friends, i'm still alive.those aren't my dead feet (next to hamster's dead feet). though they ARE my dirty sandy feet next to his dirty sandy feet. alright let's move on.
i don't know where to start. i shall start with my middle fingers. no, i'm not using it to express the disgruntlement (is there such a word!) i have inside, but to tell you that i have a paper cut on the right one. from counting my 3,600 (so says the vendor, though i'm sure there's only, at most, 3,200) purple strips of origami paper. i packed a total of 7,600 yesterday, which means 76 bundles of hundred. on my left middle finger, i'm wearing a gold solitaire of a ring, because my mother proposed and we're married indefinitely. that is, until hamster buys me one...which will go to my fourth finger. then the headache will start and i will have to decide who to eliminate. i will keep both rings of course.
it is 11.21pm on a friday that doesn't feel like a friday. the past five days have felt like mondays. and for each monday that passed, i feel like i've aged five years. which makes me about 48 years old now. and married to my mother. oh, sheesh.
and this is how it goes at work: i never really get to do what i set out to do. well, i try, but there's always something else to do. my plan for this week had been to design my panels but up till today, i've not opened the lappy i bring to work every day to start even putting a layer of core graphic onto a new document. you might think the endless mondays will give me hope but the next thing i know, it's a friday already and i'm where i started out. depressing.
and it's (sadly) funny when you manage a project on your own, taking care of everything from planning to what zenghu likes to call 'ground work'. you happily plan your overview, what you're going to do, next steps, etc. and you think, ok, time to delegate work! you look around and there's only you sitting at the table. "item one - ros, item two - hmm, okay ros, item three - i think better put ros......." i actually think it's quite funny but of course it's not.
and then my brain's feeling slower each day, which means i have to summon my army of brain cells (dying one by one in daily battles) to try to register what whoever is talking to me about, and remember it. i should sleep more.
there are perks la. like, today i got balloted for really good seats for the yog opening ceremony rehearsal. woo! and....God provided a whole large bag of rubber bands last night, after i went around my entire department asking and begging for dribs and drabs of rubber bands to tie my origami paper. when it seemed hopeless, an intern stood up, walked somewhere and brought a whole bag of brand new rubber bands to me. i nearly cried. "and the Lord provides!" i proclaimed, showing off my newfound treasure.
and okay. now i really gotta sleep. goodnight my friends. i don't know when will be the next time i blog.
the yog is coming!!!!!!!!
